Stating that all kinds of tricks are tried to lure young people into the addiction trap, Dinç said, "Attractive figures, expressions, names and colors are used in addictive products for children and young people. A system is created to make them more addicted, and flavors are added to addictive products."

"Families should guide their children"

Dinç touched on the fact that the most important task in preventing addiction falls on mothers and fathers.

Stating that families should first inform their children about addiction, Dinç noted the following:

"It is very important for parents to guide their children against addiction correctly and establish a serious control mechanism. It is very important to establish a healthy and positive control mechanism. It is very important for them to establish their communication language well. The most important thing is for children to have a healthy peer environment. Families should be guides for their children."

Follow up within the framework of positive discipline

Dinç explained that addiction combating efforts continue at Yeşilay Counseling Centers (YEDAM).

Stating that they will continue to fight until the last addict takes a step towards a healthy life, Dinç made the following assessment:

"In the research we conducted on 75 thousand addicted siblings in our Green Crescent Counseling Centers, we saw this very clearly. 80 percent of the time addiction starts because of peers. If the peer circle is addicted, it becomes much easier to become addicted. Therefore, it is very important for us to guide and help our children in terms of a healthy peer circle and to be aware of this issue. It is of critical importance for us to have control in this regard. Therefore, it is a very important reality that parents should seriously monitor, control, organize and guide their children's peer circle regarding all addictions, but do this within the framework of positive discipline."
